Before the brand existed, Ben reached the world final of Nissan GT Academy and finished 2nd to Romain Sarazin. The gamer-to-racer route later became the basis for the 2023 Gran Turismo film. Prior to this a successful early career in 2-stroke karting.
Custom Racewear was originally established to serve the paddock at the Rye House Pro Kart Series (RHPK), the home track of seven-time F1 champion Lewis Hamilton. What started as a small operation supporting local racers quickly grew far beyond the paddock due to its success. The company was formally incorporated in January 2018.
One of our first headline builds was a bespoke suit designed and made for Karting Magazine, owned by Chris McCarthy. He is best known as the Lead Commentator for FIA Formula 2 and also calls races for FIA Formula 3, Porsche Supercup, and other series.
We took a stand to KartMania at Silverstone and put the range in front of the paddock for the first time.
Our first year exhibiting at Autosport International at the NEC, with our X Pro kart and car suits on display. A chance to meet new and existing customers face to face.
Our early FIA car racing ambassadors Jessica Hawkins and Abbie Eaton ran in CR X-PRO. Since 2021, Jessica has been a key part of Aston Martin's F1 team. She serves as Driver Ambassador and leads their F1 Academy program, mentoring young drivers. Abbie has over 20 years of experience across single-seaters, touring cars, GT and endurance racing.
At Buckmore Park, we went wheel to wheel with Lando Norris, who at the time was racing in F2. Days like that are why we started.
We began our partnership with Marina Racewear when they were early in their journey. They are now a global brand and we are their exclusive UK agent.
We launched our online configurator so drivers could build their own kit across kart suits, race suits, gloves, boots and teamwear.
British born racing driver Teddy Wilson ran our X-PRO car suit in US F4. The first time an X-PRO car racing suit had been worn stateside.
Piers Prior modelled our latest X-PRO for FIA car racing while competing in British F3. He has since become a regular commentator on FIA Formula 3 and GB3, an F1 analyst for TalkSport, and covers KartMasters and the British Kart Championships for Alpha Live.
In 2022, we pushed the boundaries of sublimation printing further than before. We delivered bold, high performance designs across both karting and car racing, raising the standard for quality, durability, and visual impact across our brand.
A new wave of young drivers came through in CR X-PRO, including Simeon Stone, Sam Stoner and Seb Benson. All close racing friends of the family. Sam Stoner featured prominently in the Driven Dreams series released in 2025.
We teamed up with powerboat racing team E1 Team Miami to supply their suits for the 2024 E1 series. The first time CR went racing on the water.
Leading the charge is Jensen Sayell, who has already built an impressive early CV: 2024 CKC InterMax Vice Champion, 2025 Superone InterMax Vice Champion, and 3rd place in the 2025 CKC Intermax.
We teamed up with Brad Philpot as our Brand Ambassador. Brad is a successful racing driver/influencer with a significant following across YouTube & social platforms.
We supplied the suits for a promotional event at the Qatar Grand Prix, worn for the on track activities run between the racing across the F1 weekend.
In 2025, Anwar Beroual-Smith was crowned Tillotson T4 World Champion, showcasing outstanding pace and consistency while competing in full CR Racing kit.
CR drivers locked out the podium with a 1, 2, 3 at the inaugural Silverstone 24 Hour kart race.
KBR won the Daytona 24 Hour endurance race, with CR ambassador Brad Philpot on the team.
We continue to be a regular presence in the paddock most weekends, supporting national UK karting events. A decade on, our love for racing remains stronger than ever.
